Meet the Team

We may be an orthodontic office, but we're all pretty amazing people

Dr. Kevin Chung

“I feel truly lucky to be an orthodontist. Being a specialist allows me to use my extensive training to provide the best orthodontic care to my patients. Working with so many unique people every day makes going to work fun and exciting. I'm most passionate about the changes that I'm able to have on our patients’ lives. Giving them the self-confidence to smile and having an impact on their lives, however large or small, is very rewarding.” — Dr. Chung

Dr. Chung earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Windsor, and graduated at the top of the class. His Doctorate of Dental Surgery was completed at the University of Toronto, where he graduated with Honours, receiving numerous academic and clinical awards. He completed his formal education by earning his Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Michigan (the oldest degree granting Orthodontics program in the world). Dr. Chung is a Fellow of The Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Chung is the current president of the Aurora Dental Study Club that provides continuing education to the dentists in the York region. He regularly attends the annual meetings of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. In addition, he was invited in 2015 to take part in the Emerging Leaders Conference for orthodontists in North America. The conference was held to discuss the current state of the profession and develop a plan for the future to continue being the trusted professionals for orthodontic care.

Dr. Chung is also an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He serves as a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Dental School. Originally from Edmonton, Dr. Chung grew up in Windsor and currently resides in Newmarket with his wife, Anna, who's a pharmacist and their baby son, Ian. He enjoys racing cars, cheering on the Michigan Wolverines, and traveling.

Karen

Clinic Coordinator

I meet with many of our new patients, welcome them into the office, and explain what's involved with orthodontic treatment. If they decide to join our family of patients, I also coordinate appointments and financial obligations. Over my career, I've worked in general dental, orthodontic, and dental labs, and can truly say that I have always loved orthodontics the best. It's rewarding to be part of a life-changing profession. I love helping our patients through the orthodontic journey. It's rewarding to see the smiles and build relationships with patients and families.

Haleh

Level II Dental Assistant and Dental Receptionist

I have been working in the dental field since 2005 and joined Aurora Braces in 2017. I am very fortunate to be part of such a caring and talented team. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality of orthodontic care while assisting and providing caring service while being a receptionist. I always enjoy building great relationships with each of our patients. Outside of work I enjoy painting, reading, and spending time with my family. I also speak fluent Farsi.

Guida

Registered Orthodontic Dental Hygienist

I earned my dental hygiene diploma in 2000 and have been a part of Aurora Braces since 2007. In addition to teaching our patients about oral hygiene habits, I also assist our doctors by bonding braces, changing arch wires, and performing orthodontic adjustments. No matter what my day brings, I always know that it will be full of meaningful interactions with a variety of people. It's truly a pleasure to have such a positive impact on someone’s life.

Tracy

Registered Orthodontic Dental Hygienist

I received my dental hygiene diploma from Algonquin College in 1991 and joined the team as a hygienist in 1998. My days are filled with providing patients with orthodontic care. It’s rewarding to make a difference in our patients lives. Our practice offers honest, caring treatment to our patients. I consider our team a family and I want patients to feel like they’ve joined our family when they start treatment at our office.

Melanie

Dental Assistant

I became a dental assistant in 1993 and, after acquiring almost 20 years of experience, joined the team at Aurora Braces. I assist our orthodontists with various aspects of patient care, including taking diagnostic records, greeting and seating patients, and handling sterilization. The best part of my job is meeting new people and seeing their smiles change throughout treatment.
