Steps To Treatment

Three stages are involved in the initiation of your orthodontic care. The following is the appointment sequence necessary to begin orthodontic treatment.

Initial Consultation
No Fee

During this appointment we will acquaint you as much as possible with the orthodontic problems that exist in your mouth. A general explanation will be given with some probabilities concerning treatment, time, fees, and payment. There is no fee for this appointment.

If it is too early to begin orthodontic treatment, you will be placed on a recall list to return in 6 to 12 months. The fee for recall visits is $25.00.

Records
$250

If you wish to proceed with necessary treatment, diagnostic records must be taken in order to establish an accurate diagnosis, treatment program, and fee. This appointment includes a jaw x-ray, molds of the teeth, photo-imaging, measurements, charting, and diagnostic planning. Completing a records appointment in no way obligates you to continue with any further treatment. However, a treatment diagnosis and insurance pre-determination cannot be presented without the information obtained from the records appointment. The cost for the records appointment is $250.00. Basic dental insurance may cover these expenses.

Financial Consultation
No Fee

This is the final appointment before treatment may begin. This is a detailed presentation and discussion about the diagnosis obtained from the records appointment. The specific orthodontic problems found and the treatment plan that is required to correct those problems, as well as any questions or concerns you wish to explore will be discussed in detail.

Financial contracts and an insurance predetermination form will also be given to you at this visit. This predetermination form is for you to submit to your insurance company to determine your eligibility for coverage.

At this point the patient is ready to begin treatment.

Active Treatment
A number of different methods are used to correct orthodontic problems. The method used for each patient is dependent on his/her individual diagnosis. Treatment may include an appliance, braces, headgear, or other devices.
